Are Able Trailers galvanised?

Yes, all of our trailers are fully hot dip galvanised.

What is galvanising and its benefits?

Hot dip galvanising is a process where steel is coated with molten zinc to protect it from corrosion. This treatment provides trailers with enhanced durability and longevity, especially in harsh environments and heavy usage.

Are there any drawbacks to galvanising?

Galvanisation will significantly increase the lifetime of your trailer, but it does come with the trade-off of having an initially slightly wavy floor, which will flatten in a few weeks with regular use.

Are your trailers imported?

Able Trailers is a second stage manufacturer using imported bases and parts. We assemble our trailers here in our Balcatta Workshop.

Are your Enclosed Trailers fully sealed and waterproof

Our Enclosed Trailers will certainly keep the weather off what is stored inside, and we do ensure that any potential exterior gaps are sealed to minimise any heavy weather intrusion. They are not designed as a completely sealed trailer.

What bearings are used on your trailers?

Able Trailers are predominantly built using Ford Slimline Bearings; however it is always recommended that customers confirm the bearing part numbers prior to purchasing replacements.

What thickness is the material used on your trailers?

The material used is 2.5mm Galvanised Steel.

Can you provide customisation on your trailers?

Able Trailers are modular trailers, and therefore any additions to standard requirements are often done using prefabricated items. Any heavy customisation is certainly possible, and we can gladly refer customers onto our skilled fabrication partners we have locally.

Do the trailer cages and tailgates open both front and back?

Yes, both front and back of the trailers and cages open.

Does my trailer come fully registered?

Yes, we will register each of our trailers for 6 months as standard. You will be required to complete a transfer of ownership upon or prior to collection.

Can you offer a finance solution for my trailer?

Yes, we have ZIP Pay available for use on our website and an alternative option through Simply Finance.

Why does the floor have waves?

The floors of galvanised trailers have waves due to the hot-dip galvanising process. However, the bed will quickly flatten with regular use!

What plug will come with my trailer?

As a standard, we will provide a 7 pin (small) round trailer plug, however we will happily change this to a 7 pin flat plug upon request.

What are the main maintenance requirements for my trailer?

Important maintenance points to keep in mind when owning a trailer are:
• Bearings (ensure they are fully greased and
• Grease Nipple points (springs and tow hitches often have these)
• Wheel Nuts (it is recommended these are checked prior to any use)
